From 16 to 23 March 2027, Kathmandu will host the first edition of the International Ethnic Folklore Festival, bringing together dance and music groups from different countries.

The concert programme will feature stage performances by the participating groups, as well as official opening and closing ceremonies. The programme will also include rehearsals, creative workshops and opportunities for cultural exchange among the performers.

Host city Kathmandu is known as the “City of Temples” and impresses with its unique blend of ancient traditions and modern life. Located in a valley surrounded by the Himalayas, the city is home to Buddhist stupas, Hindu temples, historic squares and remarkable examples of local architecture and craftsmanship.

Participants will also have the opportunity to experience the local culture through traditional Nepalese clothing, a special photo session and organised visits to some of Kathmandu’s most famous landmarks.

Groups wishing to become part of the first edition of the International Ethnic Folklore Festival in Kathmandu can submit their applications for participation.
