From November 13 to 15, 2026, the Hungarian capital Budapest will host the XIII International Folklore Festival – a large-scale cultural event that will bring together dance and music ensembles from different countries in the heart of Europe.

The festival is expected to welcome ensembles and performers from Bulgaria, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, Greece, Turkey, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Malaysia and other countries. The event will provide opportunities for cultural exchange, new international contacts, and the presentation of traditional folklore to an international audience.

The festival program includes concert performances by the participants, official awarding of diplomas and plaques, as well as various tourist and cultural activities. Festival guests will have the opportunity to visit some of Budapest’s most iconic landmarks, including the Citadel, Heroes’ Square, the Parliament building, St. Stephen’s Basilica, Andrássy Avenue, and the bridges over the Danube River.

The organizers are also planning additional excursions, including an evening cruise on the Danube River, as well as visits to Szentendre, Visegrád, and Esztergom – three of Hungary’s most famous historical and cultural destinations.

Participants will be accommodated in hotels in Budapest, and the festival offers different options for participation and stay. All ensembles will receive official diplomas and plaques for participation.

Groups wishing to participate in the XIII International Folklore Festival in Budapest can submit their applications to the organizers.
