Creative groups and performers from Bulgaria and abroad can submit their applications until May 29, 2026, for participation in the International Folklore Festival “Sozopol 2026”, which will take place from June 10 to 14 in the seaside town of Sozopol.

The festival is organized by Community Center “Otets Paisii 1896” – Sozopol, Euro Folk Academy and Event Vacation, with the support of the Municipality of Sozopol, within the framework of the “Euro Folk” Music Holidays under the aegis of the European Association of Folklore Festivals – EAFF, UNESCO Partner for Intangible Cultural Heritage.

International Folklore Festival “Sozopol 2026” is a competitive event and part of the EAFF Championship System with the status of an International Championship. The participants’ scores will be valid for ranking in the World Ranking List of Folklore.

The stage in Sozopol will welcome vocal groups, folk choirs, dance ensembles, orchestras, solo performers and groups recreating traditional customs. Alongside the competition program, the festival will also offer cultural exchange, parades, accompanying concerts and tourist activities.

Sozopol is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside resorts in Bulgaria, famous for its unique atmosphere, ancient architecture and romantic cobblestone streets. Located on the southern Black Sea coast, the town combines rich history, beautiful beaches and vibrant cultural life, making it a preferred destination for tourists from around the world.

The concerts will be broadcast live on the platforms of EurofolkTV, the YouTube channel @TVeurofolk, and the Facebook pages EurofolkTV and EAFForg, giving participants the opportunity to reach an international audience.

The organizers will award the best performers with the Grand Prix “Golden Orpheus”, “Orpheus” awards in various categories, diplomas and special distinctions. Outstanding artistic directors and performers may also receive the prestigious Maestro and Maestro Academic titles.
