From February 10 to 17, 2027, the Mexican city of Tlaxcala will host the 2nd International Ethnic Folklore Festival – a large-scale cultural event that will gather dance, music, and artistic groups from different countries. The festival will offer a combination of cultural exchange, competition programs, and tourism experiences amidst the rich historical and cultural heritage of Mexico.

Located near Mexico City, Tlaxcala is known for its colonial architecture, authentic atmosphere, and impressive historical landmarks. Among the most emblematic sites in the region is the UNESCO-listed Cacaxtla archaeological site, famous for its ancient murals and unique cultural heritage. Festival participants will have the opportunity to experience the traditions, cuisine, and history of Mexico through specially organized cultural programs and sightseeing tours.

The festival is open to all age groups – from children to performers over 70 years old – as well as to various styles and genres, including folk dances, choirs, orchestras, majorette groups, theatre ensembles, classical and contemporary dances, oriental and Latin performances, social dances, and other performing arts.

As part of the festival, a one-day international competition will also be held, with participation being optional. All groups will receive certificates, while special festival trophies will be awarded to the participating ensembles. The organizers have prepared comfortable accommodation in 3- and 4-star hotels, full board meals, and a diverse cultural and tourism program.

Participants will present three different performances with a duration of 10 to 15 minutes on the official festival stages. Additional sightseeing tours to Teotihuacan, Puebla, Oaxaca, Chiapas, and other iconic destinations in Mexico are also planned.

The organizers invite all ensembles, music and dance groups, cultural organizations, and artistic collectives to submit their applications and become part of the international festival in Mexico in 2027.
