From July 3 to July 7, 2026, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sarajevo – will host the International Festival “Folk Marathon in Bosnia & Herzegovina”. The event will bring together performers, artistic groups, and artists from different countries who will present the richness of their musical and dance traditions during several festival days filled with performances, culture, and international meetings. The festival aims to encourage the creative development of participants and to create an environment for exchanging ideas, experience, and professional contacts between artists and ensemble leaders from different countries. The event places a strong emphasis on cultural dialogue, friendship between nations, and the promotion of world cultural heritage through the performing arts. The competition program includes a wide variety of categories in vocal art and choreography. Participants will be able to perform pop and folk singing, academic vocals, choral music, jazz and rock, as well as various dance styles – from folk and classical dances to modern choreography, ballroom dance, and contemporary stage forms. The festival is open to performers of different age groups – from the youngest participants to established artists. In addition to the stage program, participants will have the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The program includes visits to landmarks in Sarajevo and its surroundings, as well as meetings between creative groups, turning the festival into a true international platform for cultural exchange. The organizers invite vocal performers, dance groups, folklore ensembles, and artistic collectives to become part of the festival and present their art on the stage of “Folk Marathon in Bosnia & Herzegovina”. Those interested are welcome to submit their applications and join one of the most colorful international events of the summer.
