From June 22 to 27, 2026, the Georgian town of Ambrolauri will host the International Folk Dance and Music Festival “PERKHULI 2026.” The forum will take place in the picturesque mountainous region of Racha, located in the upper valley of the Rioni River and surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Greater Caucasus. The Cultural Centre of the Ambrolauri Municipality is a partner of the event. The festival offers a rich program combining stage performances, parades in traditional costumes, and cultural exchange among participants. The official concert days will be held in open-air venues in Ambrolauri and the town of Oni, with ensembles parading along the central streets before their performances. At the end of the concerts, participants will receive gifts from the local municipality, and all groups will be awarded certificates of participation. The organizers also provide optional excursions to some of the region’s most iconic sites, including the Gelati Monastery complex and the Sataplia Cave, as well as Mount Ckhrajvari and Lake Shaori. The program includes reception and accommodation of the groups, transportation within the region, and a festive closing evening. If required, official invitation letters will be issued, and the final program may be adjusted according to logistical conditions. “PERKHULI 2026” offers an international stage, new partnerships, and the opportunity to present authentic folklore to audiences in one of the most beautiful regions of Georgia. Applications are now open, and ensembles are invited to submit their participation requests and become part of this summer cultural event in Racha.
