From 1 to 3 May 2026, Krakow will host the International Folklore, Dance and Music Competition and Festival “Wawelskie Skarby” – an event bringing together performers from various countries and artistic genres. The competition day will take place on 2 May at the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology, one of the city’s recognizable cultural venues.

The festival has a competitive format and places strong emphasis on artistic quality, stage presence, and authenticity. Participation is open to dance ensembles – folklore, stylized, classical, modern, jazz, street, ballroom and stage formations – as well as theatre groups, folklore ensembles, fashion theatres, vocal and instrumental groups, choirs, and soloists. Other genres may also be accepted upon review of applications.

Performance time limits are clearly defined – up to 3 minutes for soloists and small formations, and up to 9 minutes for large ensembles and theatrical excerpts. Evaluation is carried out by an international jury using a ten-point scoring system, with criteria tailored to the specific genre and age group. The jury’s decisions are final.

Among the distinctions is the DIAMOND GRAND PRIX – the festival’s highest award, granted for exceptional artistic achievement. Prizes for I, II, III and IV place will also be awarded, along with debut awards for the youngest participants and special recognitions. All performers and leaders receive diplomas, medals, and certificates.

The organizers also offer the opportunity for a cultural program and visits to Krakow’s historical landmarks during free time.
