From 22 to 25 May 2026, Ohrid will host the 6th International Folklore Dance and Music Festival “St. Cyril and Methodius” – an event that will bring together folklore groups, choirs, orchestras, majorette ensembles, and dance formations from different countries. The organizers announce a 5% early registration discount, valid from 28 January to 28 February 2026, giving participating groups the opportunity to plan their participation under more favorable conditions.

The festival is conceived as a meeting point of cultures, traditions, and national identity, presented through dance, music, and authentic folk costumes. Participants will have the opportunity not only to perform on stage, but also to establish new international contacts and friendships in an inspiring environment.

The host city of Ohrid is one of the most emblematic cities in the Balkans – a spiritual, cultural, and tourist center with a history of over 2,400 years. The city and Lake Ohrid are part of UNESCO’s World Cultural and Natural Heritage, and the combination of rich historical legacy, nature, and living traditions turns the festival into a complete cultural experience. The program includes a parade and concert of the participants, organized visits to landmark sites such as Samuil’s Fortress, the Ancient Theatre, and the Church of St. John at Kaneo, as well as the opportunity for a boat trip on Lake Ohrid.

The festival is non-competitive and is open to folklore and dance ensembles, orchestras, choirs, and music groups of all ages. Each group presents a minimum of two dances with a duration of 10–15 minutes, and the number of participants is limited to up to three groups per country.

Folklore groups wishing to participate can take advantage of the 5% early registration discount until 28 February 2026, while the final deadline for submitting participation applications is 20 March 2026.
