From 11 to 15 June 2026, Sükhbaatar Square in Ulaanbaatar will transform into a stage of colours, rhythms, and authentic traditions. Folklore groups, ensembles, choirs, dancers, musicians, and master artisans from around the world will gather in Mongolia for one of the continent’s most vibrant cultural events – Asia Folk 2026. The festival combines the strength of traditional folklore with modern stage interpretations. Participants will join a competition program judged by an international panel, a national costume parade, a gala concert, and special events that turn Ulaanbaatar into a living museum of world heritage. The competition results contribute to the World Folklore Ranking. Parallel to this, the city will host a major handicraft fair – a place where artisans showcase not just products, but living traditions passed down through generations. All items must be 100% handmade, and participants take part in all official festival events. The event is organized by the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar and leading international cultural institutions, combining efforts to turn Asia Folk 2026 into a celebration of identity and a source of inspiration for future generations of creators. Those wishing to participate can submit their Application for Participation starting today.
