From May 7 to 11, 2026, the ancient capital Veliko Tarnovo will turn into a stage of colors, rhythms, and traditions during the XI World Cup of Folklore – Veliko Tarnovo 2026.

The event will be held in parallel with the Stara Planina Festival “Balkan Folk” and the National Championship “Euro Folk,” under the auspices of the European Association of Folklore Festivals.

The festival is part of the World Folklore Championship system and gathers thousands of singers, dancers, and musicians from dozens of countries.

Spectators will enjoy a vibrant competition program, parades, and spectacular concerts broadcast live on EuroFolkTV and EAFF channels.

The XI World Cup of Folklore is not just a competition but a celebration of cultural diversity, friendship, and the continuity between generations.

The best performances will enter the World Folklore Ranking and will have the chance to compete for the top award – Grand Prix World Cup of Folklore™ – Veliko Tarnovo.
