From 4 to 8 September 2026, the coastal city of Durres (Durrës) in Albania will once again become the stage for one of the most colorful international events – the 8th International Festival “Dances in Durres”. The city, rich in history, impressive landmarks, and lively atmosphere, is the perfect location for a meeting of traditions, dances, and music from different countries. The festival has a clear mission – to unite cultures through art. Dance ensembles, choirs, folklore and modern dance groups from various parts of the world will have the opportunity to showcase their unique programs, costumes, and melodies. Encounters between participants, the exchange of ideas, and new friendships are an integral part of the experience each participant will take home. Durres impresses not only with its beaches and seaside atmosphere but also with its rich cultural heritage – the amphitheater, museums, ancient fortress walls, and vibrant streets attract visitors all year round. Participants in the festival will be able to explore historical sites, enjoy local cuisine, and feel the spirit of one of the oldest cities in the Balkans. The festival program offers a combination of parades, evening performances, cultural walks, and free time. Participants may present their program with a live orchestra or recorded music and must prepare a stage performance of at least 10–12 minutes. There is no limit to the number of participants or age, opening the doors to all types of formations – from children’s groups to professional ensembles.
