The town of Hisarya will host hundreds of folklore ensembles from Bulgaria and abroad for the 13th Balkan Folk Championship “Euro Folk – Living Water 2025” – one of the most significant events in the calendar of Balkan folklore forums. More than 2,000 participants from 190 groups will take part in a colorful competition that blends tradition, creativity, and the spirit of preserving cultural identity. The concert program will take place on the stage of the “Ivan Vazov – 1904” Community Center, beginning on Friday, June 6, at 1:30 PM. On Saturday, June 7, performances will start at 12:00 PM, and at 5:00 PM, a festive parade of participants will proceed through the town center. The final day – Sunday, June 8 – will feature performances from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, followed by the announcement of the winners and the official award and closing ceremony of the Championship. As a complementary event, the Traditional Bread Contest will showcase ritual and festive breads from various regions of Bulgaria. The exhibition will be set up in the foyer of the Community Center, and the best participants will be featured in a summary film about the Championship and the TV show “Folklore Feast”. The highlight of the forum will be the presentation of the Grand Prix “Golden Orpheus” and the title “Absolute Balkan Folk Champion 2025”, accompanied by a prize check of 1,000 BGN provided by the Municipality of Hisarya. The event is organized by Euro Folk Academy, Event Vacation, the Municipality of Hisarya, and the “Ivan Vazov – 1904” Community Center. The 13th Balkan Championship is part of the Championship system of the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF) and holds the rank of a regional international championship. Hisarya is once again expected to become a stage for inspiring performances, preserved traditions, and an authentic Balkan spirit.
