The sensational 21th edition of the Black Sea Festival "Euro Folk" concluded with a grand award ceremony, where the prestigious "Golden Orpheus" prize and the 2024 Grand Prix were awarded to the Youth Group from the Folk Dance School "MI-RE-LA" from the village of German, Sofia region. Under the expert leadership of Mirela Dimitrova and Atanas Terziev, the young dancers impressed both the jury and the audience with performances that uniquely combined tradition and modernity. Many well-deserved awards were also given to other winners in various categories. In the category "Folk Song Group – Authentic Folklore," the First Prize "Golden Orpheus" was awarded to the "Father Paisii - 1909" Community Center from the village of Malevo, led by Maria Mihaleva, as well as to the "Georgi Chilingirov" Folk Ensemble from the village of Polkovnik Serafimovo, under the leadership of Sabi Kaidzhiev. There were also outstanding performances among the dance groups. The Folk Dance School "Folklorika" from Sofia, led by Georgi Pavlov and Neli Marinova, won the "Golden Orpheus" in the category "Folk Dance Group – Authentic Folklore." In the "Modern Folklore" category, the Senior Group from the Dance School "MI-RE-LA" stood out once again, proving their strong presence on stage. The jury, consisting of maestro Georgi Yankov, choreographer Valentin Halvadzhiev, and ethnologist Mariana Noutsova, did not hesitate to award other remarkable groups. Among them were the Authentic Folklore Group from the "White Sea 1929" Community Center in the village of Chernichevo and the Male and Female Singing Groups from the village of Struma, who won awards during the concerts on September 5th and 6th. The festival, held on the stages of Primorsko and Kiten, once again gathered dozens of participants from all ethnographic regions of Bulgaria. The colorful musical program filled the hearts of the audience with authentic folk rhythms, songs, and dances, turning the stage into an arena of love for folk art. The festival was closed by Kaloyan Nikolov, President of the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF), who expressed his satisfaction with the high level of performances and wished all participants success in their future endeavors. The festival not only presented prestigious awards but also provided the groups with the opportunity to compete for higher positions in the World Folklore Ranking. "See you again in 2025" were the words that concluded one of the most vibrant and inspiring festivals for Bulgarian folklore, leaving the audience eagerly awaiting the next edition.
