The winner of the Grand Prix of the World Cup of Folklore Veliko Tarnovo for 2024 is the Folk Group “CEMARA SENI” from the Selangor Educational Department and colaboration with Pahang Educational Department Malaysia, with artistic director Rosmonaliza Binti Ahmad. The winner received the Grand Cup of the forum, a diploma certifying the First Place, and a €500 voucher for participation in the World Championship of Folklore "World Folk," provided by EAFF. The leader of the folklore group was also honored by the jury with the title of Maestro. The second place in the final ranking of the World Cup was taken by the Academic Choir "Angel Manolov" from the National Student House, Sofia, led by Darena Popova. The ensemble was awarded a silver medal, Cup, Diploma, and a €300 cash prize in the form of a voucher for participation in the World Championship of Folklore "World Folk." The dance ensemble "Srednogorski Poluh" from the Non-profit Association "TS Srednogorski Poluh" - Ihtiman, led by Desislava Ivanova, was awarded the Third Place - a bronze medal, Cup, Diploma, and a €200 cash prize in the form of a voucher for participation in the World Championship of Folklore "World Folk." At the official award ceremony and closing of the XXVII Stara Planina Folk Festival "Balkan Folk" and the simultaneous XIV Bulgarian National Folklore Championship "Euro Folk" and IX World Cup of Folklore - "Veliko Tarnovo" 2024, the winner of the Bulgarian National Folklore Championship was also honored. The first place in the Championship was taken by the Folk Ensemble "Mizia" from the Cultural Club "Agreement - 1869", Pleven, with artistic directors Bilyana Deneva and Detelin Petrov. The ensemble received the Gold Medal of the Championship and the title "Absolute National Champion for 2024." The leaders of the Folk Ensemble "Mizia" were also honored by the jury with the title of Maestro. The second place in the national forum was awarded to the Singing Group "Pesnopoyka" from the National School of Arts "Prof. Veselin Stoyanov" - Ruse, led by Kristina Dimitrova. The ensemble received the Silver Medal of the Championship and the title "Absolute Vice Champion for 2024." The Children's Folk Formation "Gabrovo Voices" from the Community Center "Gabrovo - 2002", Gabrovo, led by Stefka Stoeva, took the third place, the Bronze Medal of the Championship, and the "Bronze Orpheus." From May 8 to 13, over 130 folklore ensembles from Bulgaria and Malaysia participated in the prestigious music forums in the historical and spiritual capital of Bulgaria, Veliko Tarnovo. The ceremony continued with the special award of Eurofolk Television - Diploma and a free video clip for the Folk Trio "Avliga" from Dupnitsa, led by Rayna Hristova. The special award of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality with Mayor Daniel Panov was given to the Dance Ensemble "Praznik" from the Center for Personal Development Support, Sandanski, led by Mikhail Mitrev. The balance sheet from the forums is as follows: nearly 1300 participants - singers, dancers, and musicians of all ages, included in 3 competition programs; nearly 25 hours of recorded video material - broadcast live by the Eurofolk TV team - the main media partner of the Music Festivals "Eurovision Folk." The media will broadcast repeatedly the summary film of the three forums. Accompanying events of the prestigious music programs were: concerts by the foreign group from Malaysia in the nearby villages of Veliko Tarnovo - Samovodene, Debeltse, and Kilifarevo; Parade of participants; Laying flowers at the monument of Iliyan Nikolov - inspirer and creator of the Stara Planina Folk Festival "Balkan Folk" and EAFF. After the award ceremony, the official closing of the XVII Stara Planina Folk Festival "Balkan Folk" took place, ending with the beloved phrase of the creator and inspirer of the Stara Planina Folk Festival - Mr. Iliyan Nikolov - "Behind us is the memory of our ancestors, ahead of us are the eyes of our children."
