Winner in the XIII World Championship of Folklore "World Folk" 2023 is the Children's folklore group "Ratolest" from Detva, Slovakia. Art director of thegroup is Jana Lalikova, she received the golden medal of the Championship, the Grand Prix Golden "Orpheus" and the title "Absolute World Champion of Folklore in 2023". President of EAFF - Kaloyan Nikolov awarded the group a money prize in the amount of 1000 Euro, provided by the organizers. The event took place in the period from 22 to 27 August 2023 in Bulgarian Black Sea resorts of Pomorie, Nesebar and Sveti Vlas. More than 700 participants from Bulgaria and abroad took part in the concerts on the stages - a haven for all spectators thirsty for culture, but also for those who want to share their national folklore values with a wide audience. Millennial traditions, customs and folklore told by music, song and dance were intertwined with new friendships, emotions and sea adventures. The second place in the Championship went to Folklore ensemble "TULIPANTOS" at PRIMARIA GILĂU- Gilau, Cluj, Romania. Art director of the ensemble is Okos Carol. The group received the Silver medal, Silver "Orpheus" of the Championship of the title "Absolute world vice-champion of folklore in 2023". Ensemble "Razlozhki meratsi" at "15.IX.1903 - 1909" Community center, Razlog, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria won the Bronze medal and the Bronze "Orpheus" of the Championship. Part of the visiting team from Ukraine were two 5-year-old children - Olga Koriak and Elisaveta Nikolaeva, who won the awards for the youngest participants. The prize of the Municipality of Pomorie went to the Folklore dance ensemble "Valcinetsenii" at the House of Culture - Calarasi, Republic of Moldova, with artistic director - Igor Filipchuk. The Municipality of Nessebar awarded the Ensemble of modern dance "Rhythm" - Izmail, Odessa Region, Ukraine, with artistic directors Zlata Baltakova and Tamara Baltakova. The prize of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF went to the Folklore dance ensemble "Mugurel" at the House of Culture - Calarasi, Republic of Moldova, with artistic director - Igor Filipchuk. The World Association of Folklore Festivals - WAFF awarded the Folklore Trio "Avliga" at the "Peyo Kracholov Yavorov - 1978" Community center - Dupnitsa, Kyustendil, Bulgaria with art director - Raina Hristova. The main media partner of the thirteenth edition of the World Championship of Folklore - EurofolkTV also gave its contribution and respect to the participants, distinguishing with its award the Dance Group "Pirinska Magia" at the "Prosveta - 1937" Community center - Marikostinovo village, Petrich, Bulgaria with art director - Valeri Zhganev. The President of EAFF - Kaloyan Nikolov officially closed the Championship with the words: "Preserving cultural heritage is a gift for which future generations will be grateful to us!".
