The towns of Nessebar and Pomorie will host the eleventh edition of the World Championship of Folklore "World Folk" 2021 which is going to be held under the patronage of the National Commission of Bulgaria for UNESCO from 19 to 29 August. The motto of this year's edition of the competition is "Folklore for a better tomorrow!".

Within ten days, stages of the folklore celebration on the South Bulgarian Black Sea coast will welcome more than 1000 performers from more than 60 folklore groups.

Due to the difficulties in crossing the interstate borders caused by the anti-epidemic measures, the organizing committee of the large-scale event is holding both a traditional and a digital variation of the competition.

Performers from Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Hungary, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Malaysia, Moldova, Russia, Taiwan and Uzbekistan are taking part in the Championship.

The official opening of the prestigious event will take place on August 20 at 19.30 on the stage of "Prosveta 1888" Community Center - Pomorie, and the official closing - on August 28 at 21.00 on the stage of the "Zhana Chimbuleva" Amphitheater  in the Old town of Nessebar.

The jury, which will evaluate the participants is composed of: Maestro Georgi Yankov - musical expert and conductor; Mr. Raycho Dimitrov - choreographer; Mrs. Mariana Nutsova - ethnologist. Members of the jury are also Mrs Tsatsral Baatar - director of ArtLar Culture and the Asian Championship of Folklore "ASIA FOLK" in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Prof. Nikolay Kravtsov - Honored Artist in Russia, Candidate of Art History, Dean of St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, winner of the Golden Book of the Fatherland. On August 23, the voting of audience of the online edition of the Championship will begin. The same jury will evaluate the performances of the participants in the online form of the World Championship of Folklore.

Concerts of the traditional format of the "World Folk" 2021 will be held on the following dates and scenes. Concerts may be watched live online on the Vimeo and YouTube channels of EurofolkTV as well as on the Facebook page of EAFF and EurofolkTV:
