From 12 to 22 May, the old Bulgarian capital Veliko Tarnovo will host again the Festival №1 in Europe for traditional folk arts - Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk".

Along with the anniversary 20-th edition of the main event of the Musical feasts "Euro folk", will be held two more forums - VII Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore "Euro folk 2016" and World cup of Folklore – Veliko Tarnovo 2016.

For 2 decades, participants from different regions of Bulgaria and the world, gather at the festival stage in Veliko Tarnovo, to represent the folklore art, to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the spectacular feast, to make new friends and share experience.

In the program of the feast can take part collectives and individual performers from all genres - folk choirs, ensembles, orchestras and dance groups, collectives for old urban, classic, touristic, patriotic and church songs without any requirements for age or organizational affiliation.

Hundreds of groups and individual singers, dancers and musicians from Bulgaria and abroad have already applied for the most spectacular feast of traditional folk arts!

The participation of the collectives in the contest program of the National Championship of folklore and the World Cup of Folklore, give them the right to be evaluated by the jury commission by the system of the European Association of Folklore festivals - EAFF and World Association of Folklore festivals - WAFF. The evaluations are valid for ranking in the World rankings list of folklore.
