900 performers have participated at the XVIII International Folklore Festival in Prague. From 5th to 8th of November 25 group from Italy, Slovakia, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Ukraine, Germany, Paraguay and Croatia presented their cultural traditions through the songs and dances. „First folklore festival was held in the capital of the Czech Republic in 2008 and since then we started to organize it annual. In 2009 we have more than 2500 participants from over 70 groups and 25 countries. Because of the large number of groups, we took the decision to hold the festival in Prague each march, july and november. It is a huge satisfaction to have such festival in Prague, which is famous and well-known already in whole of Europe and the world.", announced the director of the festival - Mr. Dragan Petkovich. Besides the concerts, participants had the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Prague in provided optional tours: the most famous health resort in the Czech Republic and Europe - Karlovy Vary; tours along "Vaclav", the National Museum, then on "Staromestke namesti" (main town square) and visit of the famous astronomical clock - "Orloj", visit the famous Prague Jewish ghetto, Synagogue Square and "Staronov", a walk along the river Vltava and tour to Carl's bridge, the Old tower and the monument of Carl the IV and the National Theatre.
