In XII St Stephen’s International Folk Dance Festival performed 440 participants. From 18 to 21 August, on the stages of Abony, Szolnok, Cegléd - Hungary, folklore dance groups and majorettes from Turkey, Greece, Austria, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, France, Czech republic and Russia became ambassadors of friendship and cooperation.

The festival did not have contest character. All groups received international diplomas, awards, diplomas and gifts from the town, for their participation.

Besides the concert performances, were organized free programs for the participants: riding a carriage pulled by horses, swimming, visiting the zoo. Those who wish to visit the Hungarian capital Budapest had 4 hour sightseeing tour with a professional guide in their language, as well as a cruise on the Danube.

The festival is being organized by Muzsa Festival Organising Office cooperating with the municipality of City of Szolnok, Cegléd, Abony on the occasion of 20th August - the day of St. Stephen in Hungary and national holiday.

This is the day of celebration of the establishment of the Hungarian state 1000 years ago. In this day, the bread is blessed.
Around these days, the Hungarians celebrated throughout the country with music, dancing and traditional programs, preparing traditional dishes; there are also fireworks.
