From 13 to 17 August in Ohrid was held the IX International folklore festival "Ohrid waves". The festival is organized by Association for Culture and Art "Models", Youth Culture Center in cooperation with the Municipality of Ohrid and National Center for Culture "G. Parlichev" from Ohrid.

14 groups with 450 participants from Ukraine, Czech Republic, Israel, Bulgaria, Poland, Turkey, Latvia, Estonia performed in two festival evenings. The dancers took part in a parade on the streets of the old city. The official opening of the festival was celebrated with greeting the organizers and fireworks. The concerts went on two outdoor stages and after the performances, the groups received, certificates for participation at the festival souvenirs and gifts.

Besides the festival program, for the participants was organized a tour, with visits of historical, cultural and spiritual monuments in the most popular center in Macedonia. The guests made a cruise by boat on Ohrid Lake, visited the Museum of the water and the most famous tourist resort "St. Naum". Among the famous monuments visited the house of Miladinov Brothers in Struga, "St. Sofia" church, the Samuil fortress, the Antique theater, Plaoshnik, "St. Kaneo" church, the Bridge of wishes and more.

The president of the festival, prof. d-r. Zoran Strezovski, thanked to all participants. By their side, the leaders of folklore groups expressed their satisfaction with the excellent organization and wished another meeting next year.
