Ensemble for folklore dances “Bulgarani” at Association for Folklore Dances “Bulgarani”, Sofia won the title Absolute National Champion of Folklore for 2015 in VI Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore “Euro Folk”. The championship was held parallel with XIX Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk” from 7th to 17th of May in Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria. The Ensemble received Golden medal and was awarded with the award Golden “Orpheus”, also they received a check of 1000 Lev from the organizers of the festival. Dance Collective was one of the fifth nominations for the “Euro Folk 2015” Grand Prix. The winner was determined after a precise overview of the recordings with the nominated groups by the professional jury: Maestro Georgi Yankov – musical specialist, Mr. Valenitin Halvadzhiev – choreographer, Mihail Diulgerov – folklorist and founder of Children-Youth Folklore Ensemble “Bulgarche” – Veliko Turnovo, Veselin Atanasov – musical specialist and Marina Nutsova – director. Evaluations was given on 10-points system according to complexity and quality of implementation, vision and stage presence of the groups. The winners collected 173.4 points. The second place with 171.6 points took the Ladies from Vocal Group “Detelini” – Slivnitsa, which brought them Silver “Orpheus” and silver medal. Third place, Bronze “Orpheus” and bronze medal was given to Choir for polyphonic singing “Kohortis” from Korten village, Nova Zagora Municipality. They collected 167.4 points. The jury assigned fourth position for Dance group "Hisarski Ritmi" - Hisar, with 166.8 points, and fifth became the sweet singers of Folk Trio "Avliga" - Dupnitsa with 163.6 points. All the ensembles and individual performers who appeared in the championship and collected points from appearances in festivals under the aegis of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF, have the chance for a good position in the global rankings of folklore WAFF. This year in the championship and the fest participated over 200 groups with more than 5000 performers from Bulgaria. There were also groups and individual performers from Moldova, Indonesia, Romania, Armenia and Italy. The Festival was live broadcasted on the World Internet Television EuroFolk TV and the appearances of all the performers will be included in thematic shows of the media and dozens of bulgarian televisions-partners.
