Gantari Gita Khatulistiwa folklore ensemble from Indonesia categorically won the title „Absolute World Champion of Folklore for 2014“ at the IV World Champion of Folklore „World folk 2014”. The ensemble from Jakarta convinced with its virtuoso performances the International Jury of the forum with chairman prof. Nikolay Kravtsov and won 66,17 points in the second selection of the nominated with Golden “Orpheus” collectives. The winners were granted with golden medal, Grand Prix Golden “Orpheus” and received a check for the amount of 1000 Euro from Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov, president of WAFF. The official closure and the official ceremony for awarding of the winners took place on 30 August on the stage of “Arena” Amphitheater in Saint Vlas. After a close race in the seven days of competition, from the 90 folk groups from Bulgaria, Russia, Armenia, Turkey, Croatia, Indonesia, Iran and other countries, the jury nominated for the Grand Prix of the Championship 14 of them. Media partners of the forum were the Bulgarian National Television, the newspapers “Chernomorski far”, “Faktor.bg” and “Far” Agency, the tourist web site “Peika.bg”, the internet television „Еurofolk TV“ and also the cable television channels “TV Sat Com” - Asenovgrad, „Stara Zagora” television, „Haskovo” television, „Telekabel Pazardzhik”, „Kis 13 - Ruse”.By the regulations of the Championship, the groups which are nominated for Golden „Orpheus“ participate in a second selection, from which were chosen this year's winners. The ceremony of the official awarding was attended by the Ambassador of Indonesia in Bulgaria, His Excellency Mr. Bunyan Saptomo and Mr. Mohammad Ali Kiani – a cultural attaché at the Embassy of Iran in Bulgaria. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov, president of the World Association of Folklore Festivals – WAFF and the full composition of the jury commission with chairman Prof. Nikolay Kravtsov – Dean of the Faculty for Folk instruments at the State University of Culture and Art in St. Petersburg, Maestro Georgi Yankov – musical specialist and Mr. Valentin Halvadzhiev – choreographer, and also the honorary members – Mrs. Larisa Simeonova from "Opera Directing" Department at the Conservatoire of St. Petersburg, Mrs. Tsatsral Baatar – Director of the Asian Championship of Folklore „Ulan Bator“ Mongolia, Mrs. Mariana Nutsova – program director of Eurofolk TV and the arbitrator of the jury – Mr. Valko Lyubenov - Doctor honoris causa of Folklore music and dances and member of IOV at UNESCO. The ceremony started with a speech of Prof. Nikolay Kravtsov, who expressed his overall evaluation of the performance of the participants at the Championship. Right after that began the awarding of special prizes by four criteria of the evaluation system of WAFF - "complexity performances", "quality of performances" "vision" and "stage presence" and the award for "preservation and development of folk music arts". There were special awards from the internet TV ”Eurofolk”, and from EAFF. A real stage euphoria occured with the announcement of the top three places in the ranking of the nominated groups. After the winners of the Grand Prix Golden „Orpheus“ from Jakarta, on the second place with 62 points were classified again their countrymen from the ensemble UKM Seni Tari Universitas Hasanuddin, from the Indonesian city Makasar. The performers took silver medals at the Championship and the title „Vice Champion of Folklore for 2014“ personally from Mr. Nikolay Kravtsov, Chairman of the jury. The third place at the World Championship of Folkore „World folk 2014”, with rate of 59 points, took the Children's dance ensemble „DANK“ from Moskow, Russia. The bronze medal of the Championship and the bronze „Orpheus” were granted by Mrs. Tsatsral Baatar. The IV World Championship of Folklore „World folk” 2014 was officially closed by the president of WAFF Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov with gala concert of the nominated ensembles by the row of their ranking.
