Six nominations for the Grand Prix – Golden “Orpheus” for folklore were granted to folklore collectives, which took part in the V Edition of the Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore “Euro folk 2014”and the  в XVIII Edition of Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk 2014”, which took place in Veliko Tarnovo. The two forums were held from 8 to 18 May on the stage of the “Summer Theater”, as over 300 folklore ensembles and individual performers took part with over 500 participants from all over Bulgaria.

Two foreign groups took part in the festivals - “Zhivi Izvori” from Kayrakliya, Moldova, which is an ensemble consisted from women, who are fifth generation of Bulgarians, and “Skalni” students ensemble, from Krakow, Poland. The ensembles with nomination for Golden “Orpheus”, who are competing for the grand prize of 1000 lv., are: “Trakiyska magia” from Zlatitrap village, Plovdiv Region; Female folklore choir at Territorial organization of the blind people in Dobrich and “Gadulitsa” Folklore Ensemble from Kazanlak,“Avliga” trio from Dupnitsa; “Detelina” Children's dance ensemble from Varna and Female Folklore Choir at “Razvitie” Community Center in Merdanya Village, municipality of Lyaskovets.Last evening was the official Closing Ceremony of the two festivals, which started with a review of authentic folklore costumes, represented by the students from “Nezabravka” Ensemble at “Lyuben Karavelov” Secondary School at Nessebar.

Girls with costumes from different ethnographic regions in Bulgaria defiled on the stage – from Strandzha, Samokov and Pernik regions, with thracian and northern costumes, with clothes of refugees from Asia Minor, with a costume from Kotlen, which is 200 years old, and more. On the official closing ceremony of the forums on 17 May 2014, the chairman of "Balkan Folk", Kaloyan Nikolov, introduced to the audience the "face" of the festivals - Nikoleta Stoyoanova from Nessebar. The photography of the charming girl decorates the visual advertising of the festival - posters, banners, programs and more. Mr. Nikolov gave a miniature version of the poster of the festival, printed on canvas to the young girl and thank her for dealing with folklore and folk arts.

During the six daily concerts, the jury gave 15 golden medals and the title of “National champion” of the gifted collectives and individual performers, which received recommendations for participation in the World championship of Folklore. Over 20 performers got silver medals and the title “National vice-champion of folklore”. The winners receive an invitation for participation in the European Championship of Folklore “Euro folk 2014”. 26 bronze medals were awarded to the gifted participants, together with an invitation for participation in the European Championship “Eurofolk Jiva Voda 2014” in Hisarya. The jury gave diplomas for Discovery of both forums, over 100 laureate nominations, certificates of continuity between generations in the name of the founder of Musical feasts “Euro folk” and founder of the championship system, Mr. Iliyan Nikolov.The youngest participant in the festival was the 3-year-old Roberta from Draganovtsi village, Gabrovo, and the oldest participant was the 95-year-old Stoyko Delibeev from Ruhovtsi village, Elena Region.

During the forums, hundreds of signatures were collected from collectives and community centers from the whole country for building of a monument of Iliyan Nikolov.
