Director: Thanasis Vosniakos After 10 successful Festivals on 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 & 2024 with 100+ participating folk dance groups and with 1000+ participants from 14 different countries, the ‘’11th Edipsos International Folk Dance Festival’’ will take place in the touristic resort of Edipsos, in the Northern part of Evia island, in central Greece, during 3, 4 & 5 July 2026. Edipsos is located in the Northern part of Evia Island, 255 kms south of Thessaloniki on the way to Athens, along with a 30 minutes short sea trip with a ferry boat (Glifa - Agiokampos). The festival is open for all Folk Dance Ensembles (with members aged 8-88 years old). The festival is 100% self-financed, by the participating groups, with no sponsors or any financial support. Festival conditions: Accommodation will take place in hotels located inside Edipsos in double and triple rooms. Single rooms will have an extra charge of 15€ per person per night (with low availability). All rooms will have air-condition, TV, refrigerator and free Wi-Fi. The provided accommodation will be half board (breakfast and lunch). Breakfast will be served in the Hotels and lunch in a local restaurant. Each participating folk group can participate with up to 70 participants. Groups can perform with recorded music (cd) or live (orchestra). Each group during its staying in the festival will totally give up to 3 night performances (program starts at 21.00) for around 15 minutes (the final duration depends on the final number of participants). Detailed program will be sent to all participating groups, the latest 10 days before the beginning of the festival. Each group is responsible for the medical insurance of its members. The drivers of each group, the Director and the choreographer are free of charge. Participation fee: The participating groups can stay at the festival 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights with the following prices (per person): 3 nights HB : 240 € 4 nights HB : 320 € 5 nights HB : 400 € From 40+ paying persons, 2 persons don’t have any participation cost at all. In order to avoid cancelations all participating ensembles have to send an advance payment of 500€-1.000€ (depends on the Hotel), till 15.05.2026, directly to the Hotel where they will be accommodated. The rest has to be paid to the Director of the festival during the first days of the festival. In case of cancelation for group’s reasons (visa, flights etc.) after 1st of June 2026, the advance payment is nonrefundable. In case a group will cancel for any reason its participation, for any reason, till 30th May 2026, the festival organizers have the obligation to send back to the group all the advance payment. A very important notice: the earlier a group will send the advance payment the better Hotel will choose/get. During the 2026 festival, like during the past years, there will be an optional excursion to the island of Skiathos that will cost 35€ (bus is not included for groups that will come by plane). Groups that will arrive by plane to Athens International Airport will have to cover their airport transfers (Athens-Edipsos, Edipsos-Athens). That cost is 1.500€ (2 ways) plus the ferry boat ticket Arkitsa-Edipsos. Athens International Airport – Arkitsa port=170kms and Arkitsa port - Edipsos port = 55 minutes by ferry boat. Any group willing to participate must submit an application form. Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.
