International Folklore Festival “ALEXANDER OF MACEDONIA” (20 – 24 july, 2012)

Cultural Association of Art “OHRIDCHANKA" from Ohrid is the organizer of the International Folklore Festival "Alexander of Macedonia'', which will be held in the city of Odrid in cooperation with the Center for Culture "Grigor Parlichev"- Ohrid.

PURPOSE OF THE FESTIVAL
The main purpose of the festival is to bring together the participants, getting acquainted with different cultures through dance, music and traditional national costumes of the nations that will come. The main idea of the organizers is to collect folk and national art groups from around the world for close communication and presentation of their own national culture, acquaintance of other cultures and international cooperation in the future. The idea of the festival is to develop new forms of communication in the international dialogue. Furthermore, the participants of the festival will be acquainted with the beauty of our town Ohrid, which is under the protection of UNESCO, along with the Ohrid Lake.

Conditions of the festival:

- Folklore groups from all over the world
- The number of the participants is not limited.
- No age limits.
- At every 20 participant 1 is gratis.
- Free parking for the festival time.
- Provided practical gifts and Diploma for participation in the festival.
- Organization of the performances of the participants and the defile.

Participation fee

The participation fee is:
100 Euro per participant (the price includes 4 full boards)
90 Euro per participant (the price includes 4 half boards)
in a hotel at the very coast of the Ohrid Lake.

 Accommodation:

The accommodation is in rooms with 2, 3 and 4 beds, each with bathroom and toilet.

Obligations of the participants:

1. Each group must consist of at most 35 to 40 members, including dancers, musicians, group managers and administration.
2. To prepare a program with duration from 15 to 20 minutes.
3. To bring with them a flag of the country they represent.
4. Each group should bring at least 8 to 10 small gift for exchange between the participating groups.

INSURANCE:
Personal responsibility and health insurance are within the other obligations of the groups. First Aid and Medical Hospital will be available, medical services must be covered by the group.

ADVERTIZING OF THE FESTIVAL:
All festival events will be presented in the press, on radio channels, as well as on local television programs, flyers and posters.

Program:

1 day (July 20) Reception of the participants.
2 day (July 21) Sightseeing of Ohrid, visiting the culture- historical monuments.
3 day (July 22) Visiting ”St. Naum” by boat, 20.00 h – official opening of the festival.
4 day (July 23) Day for individual activities, official performances of the participants.
5 day (July 24) Departure of the participants.

The submitting of the participating ensembles not later than March 15, 2012.

Approved groups paid in advance 10% guarantee fee that is deducted in the final payment.
Until  30.03.2012 send  payment of a 10 % fee for  reservations  in hotel.
 
Send photo and video materials.
 
Official confirmation of participation is issued after receipt of the guarantee fee.
Official invitations are sent after the official confirmation of participation.

Teams, that wish to stay more days, can do so against relevant surcharge.
